Calgary Co-op North Hill: Honouring the Past. Built for What's Next.

Elan was selected to provide General Contracting services for the new Calgary Co-op North Hill location. Originally opened in 1960 as Store #2, North Hill holds a special place in Calgary Co-op’s history. For many team members, this store was where their careers began, building relationships and connections that have carried forward for decades.

The new 41,000+ sq. ft. store, located at the base of the Munro Building developed by Royop, represents the next chapter for this historic site. Designed to serve a growing urban community, the redevelopment honours the legacy of the original location while delivering a modern retail experience.

The new facility includes a full-service grocery store, Pharmacy Walk-In Clinic, heated underground parking, community room with customer seating, expanded fresh departments, grab-and-go options, and a fresh oyster bar. Future phases of the site will also introduce a Wine, Spirits, Beer location and a touchless car wash.

Delivered in collaboration with Calgary Co-op and its development partners, this project reflects a shared commitment to long-term investment in people, community, and lasting partnerships.
